RGB Building Suppliers are calling for anyone with used or old tools to donate them in support of charity, Amigos.
Amigos is a charity that has been working to improve the lives of people in Uganda for almost 20 years. The donated tools will be used as part of the vocational training run by Amigos, which will help in creating apprenticeships and employment for young people in Africa.
It’s hoped that the collaboration between RGB Building Supplies and Amigos will encourage tradespeople to donate tools, which will go along way towards improving the lives of young people in Africa.
Donations can be left in collection bags that you’ll be able to find in 20 RBG branches until 31st July. After this date, all of the donated tools will be collected by Amigos who will then repair them, if necessary, and ship them to Africa.
Speaking about the campaign, RGB CEO, Kevin Fenlon said: “Many of us have tools that we don’t use and it’s these that will help change the lives of the young people supported by Amigos, so we’re encouraging our customers and the communities local to our branches to bring them to our donation points. In advance, we’d like to thank everyone who supports the appeal.”
Amigos volunteer and project leader, Roger Bartlett also added: “At Amigos we firmly believe that Ugandans are the solution to their problem of poverty. By equipping young people in vocational skills at Kira Farm, we have seen time and again how they are able to transform the lives of not just themselves, but their families and the wider community too.
“We are absolutely delighted that RGB has agreed to partner with us in helping to provide much needed tools that will give our trainees and others the very best chance of succeeding.”
So if you have some tools that you’d be happy to donate, use the RGB store locator to find your nearest donation point.
